+965 explained

Questions about +965
Which country is +965?
+965, or country code 965, belongs to Kuwait. Its capital, Kuwait City, sits on the Gulf coast.
What is +965?
+965 is the code you dial before Kuwait's 8-digit numbers when calling from abroad. Kuwait has no separate 0 to drop first.
What is the difference between +965 and 00965?
Dialing 00965 or +965 reaches the same Kuwaiti number. The plus sign stands for the exit code your own phone uses, and Kuwait's own exit code happens to be 00 too. From the US or Canada, dial 011 in front of 965 instead.
Can I text a +965 number?
Yes. Write it as +965 with the 8 digits that follow; there is no leading 0 to drop first. Your message goes out at your carrier's international rate.
How much does it cost to call Kuwait?
Calling a Kuwaiti mobile costs more than calling a landline. Enter the number in the dialer above to see the exact price before you call.
Is the KW country code the same as +965?
No, they serve different purposes. The KW country code identifies Kuwait on forms, shipping labels, and web addresses. +965 is what you actually dial to ring a Kuwaiti phone.
Does Kuwait have area codes?
No. Every Kuwaiti number is 8 digits with no separate area code to dial.
