Questions about +262
Which country is +262?
+262, or country code 262, belongs to Reunion. Mayotte, another French overseas department, uses the same code.
What is +262?
+262 is the part you dial before a Reunion number when you call from outside France. It replaces the first 0 of the number.
What is the difference between +262 and 00262?
The + stands for your exit code. 00 is the exit code in Reunion, mainland France, and most of the world, so 00262 and +262 reach the same number there. From the US and Canada, dial 011 262 instead.
Do I drop the 0 after +262?
Yes. The 0 is the French trunk prefix and works only inside France. Dial +262 262 16 12 34, not +262 0262 16 12 34.
Can I text a +262 number?
Yes. Write the number as +262 without its first 0, and your phone sends the text outside France at your carrier's international rate.
How much does it cost to call Reunion?
A call to a Reunion mobile costs more than a call to a landline. The dialer on this page shows the exact price of the number you enter before you call.
