Keep the original audio or convert
The format marked Original copies the original audio track out of the video with no re-encoding. Here is the file you get from each kind of video.
| Sound in the video | File you get with Original |
|---|---|
| AAC, in MP4 or MOV | An M4A file. Phones and most cameras record AAC. |
| Opus or Vorbis, in WebM or MKV | An OGG file. Browser and screen recordings often use Opus. |
| MP3 | An MP3 file, copied as it is. |
| FLAC | A FLAC file, still lossless. |
| PCM or another codec | A WAV file. The sound is decoded once and stored uncompressed. |
| AC-3, DTS, or DRM | Many browsers cannot read AC-3 or DTS, and no browser tool can read DRM-protected video. A note appears for that file. |
Extract audio your way
Take only one part
With one video in the list, set Start and End under Trim. Only that part is saved, such as one song from a concert or one answer from an interview.
